Client’s Brief:
Our client had a clear vision for their bathroom: a space-saving design that included a combination shower/bath unit with both rainfall and handset showers, a built-in toilet and sink unit for extra storage, modern aesthetics, and easy maintenance. They also wanted the ceiling to be adorned with spotlights, creating a welcoming ambiance.
Challenges Faced:
- Timber Frame Property: This project presented an interesting challenge as the property was constructed with a timber frame. Fixing tiles and fittings to the wall required a solid surface. To address this, we lined the bathroom with OSB board, providing a secure fixing surface, and then applied plasterboard for tiling. This ensured a strong and durable finish.
- Electrical Adjustments: In addition to the aesthetic changes, we relocated the extractor fan isolator and light switch to the outside of the bathroom to comply with regulations. Installing spotlights in the ceiling added a modern touch. We also re-plastered the ceiling to achieve a seamless and polished look.
- LVT Flooring: The customer decided to use their own LVT flooring contractor, which we incorporated into the project schedule. Once the other contractors had completed their work we returned to silicone seal all gaps and edges to create a clean, finished appearance.

The combination shower/bath unit maximises space, and the built-in toilet and sink unit provide ample storage.
